Get to Know SIA Scotch Whisky!

SIA Scotch Whisky is a new and exciting whisky for today’s modern taste. The name SIA means “six” in Scottish Gaelic and is the number of whiskies used in the original blend. SIA Scotch was crowdfunded on, successfully raising almost $50,000.

The blend was created between Carin and three Diageo Master Blenders - Craig Wallace, Jim Beveridge and Emma Walker at Diageo. Craig Wallace is the Master Blender for Buchanan’s and Old Parr. Jim Beveridge is the Master Blender for Johnnie Walker. Emma Walker is the Master Blender for Jane Walker.


One of the lead malts used in the blend is Teaninich. This is a very historic distillery in the Highland region dating back over 200 years – produces malt whisky of a light highland style – citrus fruit, fresh, accessible.


We use a combination of refill American oak (Bourbon) and first fill American oak (Bourbon). The first fill casks add the vanilla sweetness to the blend and caramel notes. The refill casks gently mature the whisky allowing the distillery flavors to shine through.


SIA’s founder is a Hispanic entrepreneur who started her business through Kickstarter, so a partnership with a charity which supports these endeavors offers an opportunity to tie our purpose-driven work to the brand’s origin story in an authentic way.

We are exploring numerous Hispanic and mass market focused venture funding platforms to find the right one to partner with, to be amplified in PR and social. The focus will always be local markets where the brand is distributed and where these entrepreneurs live and can impact their communities.
