#FrontyardCookout and Cocktails
written by annamarie garcia
To kick-off the official start of cookout season, the folks at Oscar Mayer have launched a national campaign that encourages people to have front yard barbecues all month long to connect with neighbors while still respecting social distancing guidelines. Particularly, the campaign encourages the cookouts to kick-off on May 2nd which helps to add a level of community involvement… essentially bringing to life a Block Party of National proportions!
To further inspire participation, Oscar Mayer is encouraging people to get outside — and stay 12 hot dogs apart — to cook for a cause. The company will donate one million meals to Feeding America, and each time someone shares their cookout on social media in the month of May with the hashtag #FrontYardCookout, Oscar Mayer will donate an additional meal to the nonprofit organization, for up to one million extra meals.
Of course we at Allied Beverage Group were inspired by this and have curated a list of truly simple and refreshing cookout cocktails that are sure to take your front yard festivities to the next level…

1.25 oz Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka
Club Soda or Seltzer

This pitcher margarita is well worth the effort so you are never too far from your next fresh cocktail.

1 Cup Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
Several tablespoons coarse salt, for rimming the glasses

What cookout is complete without S’mores? This adult version of this classic treat will not disappoint.

Crushed Graham Crackers
