Vice President of Learning and Talent Development
Marco Yanez is the Vice President of Learning and Talent Development at Allied Beverage Group.
Marco has spent the last 36 plus years working in the New York/New Jersey area in the wine and spirit industry. At Allied Beverage, Marco developed Allied Nations, the company’s multicultural division, which fast became one of the most successful segments of the company. In early 2015, after completing an extensive training program with Performance 2000 Incorporated and scoring at the top of his class, Marco became a Certified Behavioral Assessment Analyst, propelling him into his new role at Allied. He now has strategic responsibility as it relates to Learning, training, along with identifying and developing associate talent, among other things.
Other professional growth included courses such as Anthony Robbin’s “Sales Mastery Course”, Dale Carnegie’s “How to Win Friends and Influence People”, Bob Proctor’s “You Were Born Rich”, John Kanary International’s “The ‘C’ Zone” and “Top Performer”, and extensive training at Coach University. Is also a member of ATD Association for Talent Development. Marco’s passion and commitment for personal development, success, incredible drive, and desire-to-win-attitude coupled with his coaching skills has truly made a difference within the company.
Marco’s career began when Charlie Merinoff, then with Charmer Industries, gave Marco his first opportunity as a sales representative in New York. Soon after, he continued his sales career at Peerless Importers, where he was elevated to management within four years. At Peerless, Marco successfully pioneered the first Hispanic market focus division in the New York area. At the helm of this division, he managed, motivated, and influenced a dedicated team of Hispanic sales representatives. Marco was also responsible for creating and implementing innovative concepts to target the Hispanic market segment. His efforts flourished, causing others in the industry to take notice. In 1988, Marco was the recipient of that year’s prestigious Hispanic Corporate Achiever Award.
Marco attributes his industry training & development path to the school of hard knocks with Gallo. Here is where he embraced the industry lead standard for the fundamentals of training & development. At R&R Marketing, Marco was asked to create and lead the Spectrum Division. This was also the first multicultural focused sales team at R&R. In addition and prior to joining Allied, his career also encompassed marketing, consulting, public relations and advertising for wine and spirits companies to the Hispanic and Multicultural market. Marco reports to Jon Maslin Senior Vice President. Marco holds a degree in business management with Taylor Business Institute and lives in Manhattan with his wife Linda and is a proud father of his sons Keith & Brandon.
